OCR: What's new in version 1.1? Version 1.1 is a total rewrite of version 1.0. I would have called it version 2 but the files on it are (essentially) the same. list of all the new and improved features this disk provides. I will give a * New bootup picture. The old one was badly designed and flickered badly on a TV. After all I've said about Amiga Computing making their disks TV friendly I felt it was a bit hypocritical to keep the picture. Improved bootup: > Colours, bold, italic and underlined text have been implemented > Autodects Kickstart 1 or 2 and loads a special menu accordingly. don't know if it is KS3 friendly. If you have KS3 could you let me know if this disk does not work and I will try to get it working Let me know exactly where any errors occur - I think that the Check37 program could be updated to a newer version. > Configures properly on Kickstart 1 or 2 (correct Setpatch, for example) > The title in the CLI window no is longer enclosed in quotes under KS2 > PP now loads properly. There was no need to Run >NIL: < NIL: it because it autodetaches from the CLI Ooops! In version 1 I forgot to include the docs for MenuMaster III. Apologies go to Dave Matthewson for this error. rest assured they are not only on the disk, but in the menu so they can be loaded by anyone. The disk has been optimized so it loads quicker (this also aids PP) Sample Maker has been updated to version 3.1 (used to be version 1.0) The MUG details section has been updated and a contact address section has been added OctaMEDplayer v5 is now implemented with the MBexit feature activated (KS2 only - I couldn't get it to work under KS1. 0/S 1 users will have to make do with version 4.01 until I can find a working copy. If Teijo is reading, OCTAMEDPLAYER WILL NOT WORK UNDER KICKSTART 1.3 !!! There is a doc file in S: called message2. Read it if you can help me! PPmore has been updated to version 2 (only on KS2) A new Ripper, R. I.P. has been added The disk creation script has been improved : > It is now faster. It used to copy Echo into RAM when it is, as you know, resident in KS2. This is because it was originally intended for both operating systems. I found out it was not KS1 compatible at the very last minute - I had put the disk in a jiffy bag ready to send to MUG and I made a final check. > The menu now boasts an option to relabel a disk (KS2) after it has been created. This feature was a right bummer to get working but I did it > You now press the left mouse button to continue instead of the right eventually. mouse button. Left mouse is a whole lot more intuitive. > MakeDisk now has a document file explaining its usage None of the programs load behind the menu any more. Hunter III was hard to do because it autodetaches from the CLI. So what I did was run MenuMaster in iconified form, then Hunter III so the MenuMaster window sits around at the top of the screen. When you quit Hunter III, the MenuMaster window is activated (because it was the previously run task) and you press the right mouse button to de-iconify it. A little message at the bottom of the CLI window tells you what to do. How about version 1.1a?ion 1.1a is the PD release of the standard disk. tly the Apparer colours on the O/S 1 menu were a bit dodgy, so I have changed them to browns, like the O/S 2 menu. Not sure how good they are as yet. Let me know ! This is a V1.1 feature but I forgot to put it in the docs. If you load the startup-sequence into a text editor or even PPmore, I have included some text at the end explaining how the startup-sequence and dicerning menu system works. Feel free to read this and use it in your own disks. The startup message had a spelling error that I had not even noticed! It used to read "MEBERSHIP DETAILS" instead of "MEMBERSHIP DETAILS"! Anyway, I found that one myself and fixed it (I'm a perfectionist, you see). Sorry about any other errors! I hope you enjoy using this new version of No Sampler? Utilities. Please write to TI or me with your opinions, suggestions etc. Send me some programs (rippers or any other program that aids life without a sound sampler) to put on No Sampler? disk 2 and I will include them. I do not own any more rippers at all so any program would be appreciated. Anybody who sends me a program I use will be credited on the disk. You could be famous! Mike
